The heart of PFBL is to raise the community around us by opening up as many opportunities as possible for the inner-city youth. We partner with schools all across New York City, searching for outstanding students with vision and drive. Awarding these students with scholarships is our way of standing with them as they move towards their dreams.
Sports

As a founding component of the PFBL Scholarship, basketball remains one of our most effective ways to reach out to our community. We hold annual tournaments for people of all ages. It is our belief that playing sports is about more than just the game. Sportsmanship is about integrity, discipline, growth and change.

Our scholarships are rewarded to those seeking to further their education in the direction of their dreams. We believe in education’s power, and its ability to change a life. Each year, with the help of our partners, we pour into the future of our community, giving them the gift of education—the gift of something new.
